Sally
We got a new dog. Atleast we think its a dog. It could be a coyote. Several weeks ago Evan found a dog abandoned on the side of the road so he decided to bring her home. The kids and I had been at a birthday party for one of Dayna's friends and when we arrived home the first words out of my mouth were "that better be someone elses dog!" Well, Dayna loves animals and she really bonded with it. So, I caved, and we decided to keep her (after we reported her to the animal shelter and waited the specified time to make sure no one claimed her). Her name is Sally. I don't know what it is, but there is something a little creepy about Sally. I think it might be that she sleeps with her eyes open... CREEPY! After we had her for about a week, Evan asked if I thought she might be a coyote. Uh, she better not be a coyote. We started researching it online, and lo and behold, if you type "black coyote" into a google search, it brings up a picture of our "dog." This freaked me out. Could we possibly have a coyote living in our house with us? I mean this is the kind of thing that happens to Evan us. I read everything I could about how to tell the difference between a dog and a coyote and after watching her for a few days, I came to the conclusion that she was a dog. Fast forward a few weeks... she gets really sick. I mean really sick, so we took her to the vet. Evan asked the vet if he thought our dog might be a coyote. The vet just laughed. He said he had never been asked that question before, but he assured Evan that she was a dog. Whew! I now sleep a little better at night knowing that our dog is, in fact, a dog!

I thought when you took her to the vet, the doc was going to say she was pregnant! I was going to laugh and laugh! Wait, isn't that three dogs now? A dog for every child. I guess when you have another kid, you'll have to get another dog. =)
